Cultural Trauma
When collective history burdens individuals with emotions and beliefs that aren’t entirely theirs.
Description
Wars, oppression, migrations leave residue: fear, shame, vigilance. Parts inherit these Legacy Burdens. Healing includes naming the cultural layer so the system stops treating it as personal failure.
What Cultural Trauma is NOT:
Identity politics; trauma one-upmanship; blame redistribution.
Examples:
Descendant of persecuted group over-scans for danger.
Gendered protector policing vulnerability.
Community rituals restoring pride and connection.
