Rituals

Symbolic actions that tell the nervous system “it’s done.”

Description

IFS uses rituals to embody shifts: burning burdens, returning roles, welcoming parts home. The act matters less than sincerity; it anchors new neural patterns through multisensory memory.

What Rituals is NOT:

Magic thinking; therapist theater; compulsory.

Examples:

Writing and tearing the old belief.
Touching water after unburdening grief.
Lighting a candle for a reconciled protector.
