Titration

Taking big emotions or trauma work in small, metabolizable doses.

Description

Borrowed from chemistry: add drop by drop, not bucket by bucket. In IFS, titration keeps you inside the Window of Tolerance. It’s the art of pausing before overwhelm, letting the system integrate, then proceeding.

What Titration is NOT:

Avoidance; endless warm-up; trauma tourism.

Examples:

Touching a memory for 20 seconds, then grounding.
Noticing body heat rise and switching to breath before flooding.
Scheduling recovery time after intense sessions.
