Blending & Unblending
Blending is being fused with a Part; unblending is stepping back into Self while staying in relationship with it.
Description
Blending means a Part has taken the driver’s seat: you see through its lens. Unblending starts by acknowledging the Part, getting curious about what it feels and believes, and extending Self-energy toward it until there’s just enough space to relate rather than react. The goal isn’t to silence the Part, but to restore perspective and connection.
What Blending & Unblending is NOT:
Dissociation; suppression; sterile “objectivity.”
Examples:
“I notice a critic is here” replaces “I’m awful.”
You pause before replying, sense the anxious Part, and breathe with it.
You feel fear and stay warm toward the one who’s afraid.
